Don't forget that tomorrow, May 31st is Memorial Day here in the United States. We need to thank all of those who are serving, have served, or have family members that are now servicemen and women. If it were not for them way back in 1776, we would not even be a nation today. Think of the millions that have died in the meantime to protect our lives, rights and freedoms.
After all of they have given us, we must make sure that what they did is not undone and freedoms lost due to unfounded fears or prejudices. We became a great country and continue to be one. We are the envy of many around the world. That was not the work of one person, but of millions. And it is a job that will continue on and on.
So express your gratitude this Memorial Day. Lay a flower on the grave of a lost hero, call a friend whose son or daughter is currently serving in the armed forces to let them know you are thinking of them, or just let a veteran know that you have not forgotten what they did for us.
It is Memorial Day so let your memories be of those benefactors past, present, and future!
