On May 8, 2010 your local letter carriers will be picking up non-perishable food items that you can donate to help feed the less fortunate. And let's face it, in recent years there have been many that have fallen on hard times. Perhaps you know some.
So why not open your hearts an buy an extra can of vegetables, some pasta, a jar of pickles, etc , put them in a plastic shopping bag, and leave them by your mailbox on Saturday May 8th so that they can find their way into some hungry stomachs?
When many of us have so much, it costs so little to improve the lives of others around us. Give it a try. My guess is that you will get a good feeling in your heart when you see your items picked up by the postal worker! Thanks!
