The good folks at the Florida Agricultural and Consumer Services Commission are reminding homeowners that if they have polybutylene pipe systems, commonly referred to as gray pipe though not all of it is gray, in their homes, time is running out to make claims. From what I have read, you must know about the leaks in the pipes by January 31, 2009 and make your claims by May 1, 2009.
Mobile homes may fall under different requirements than other types of dwellings. You can confirm this at the phone number or website given below.
This is just what I have seen reported and I AM NOT a plumber or expert on this pipe, or the associated lawsuit/settlement.
You can find more information about this at: www.pbpipe.com I believe you can also find out what you need to do to make a claim. You can also call the Consumer Plumbing Recovery Center at 1-800-392-7591 for more information.
If you are having plumbing problems with this type of pipe, it may be worth your while to investigate to see if you qualify for some relief.
